Description

Rather elongate, brown, densely clothed with large gray scales; prothorax indistinctly striped; elytra with a darker lateral cloud behind the middle. Beak slender, curved, longer than the head and prothorax, naked, punctured, substriate near the base; head punctured, clothed with fine scales. Prothorax one-third wider than long, narrowed from the base, rounded on the sides, densely punctured. Elytra a little wider than the prothorax; sides parallel, then obliquely narrowed and rounded to the tips, which entirely cover the pygidium; striae strongly punctured, interspaces nearly flat. Legs testaceous, front thighs toothed, hind thighs not toothed; claws toothed, with the teeth nearly connate; antennae testaceous, funicle 6-jointed, first joint elongate, second joint nearly as long, but thinner. Length 2 mm.; 0.08 inch.

Texas, Belfrage; one specimen. Has quite the appearance of a Smicronyx. The last ventral segment is a little longer than the fourth, and is marked with a large shallow rounded impression. There are some white markings upon the elytra of which a narrow scutellar spot and a line upon the sixth interspace from the base to the middle are most obvious.
