Field Guide to Grasshoppers, Katydids, and Crickets of the United States
Variable in color, ranging from brown to grayish or greenish. It bears dark stripes behind the eyes and across the lateral lobes of the pronotum. Lateral ridges on the pronotum are strongly constricted centrally. Wings are long, and the forewings bear a row of 4 to 6 rectangular black spots centrally. Upper surfaces of the hind femora bear dark spots; the central spot, at least, is triangular in shape. Hind tibiae are orange. Males are 18-20 mm long, females 16-27 mm.
