Quite variable both in color and size. Neither particularly heavy-bodied nor especially slender, but somewhat intermediate in bulk. Generally gray and mottled with small, irregular dark spots, but sometimes is brownish or greenish, or uniform in color. Except in uniformly colored individuals, a light dorsal stripe extends from the top of the head across the thorax. Hind tibiae are brown or blue. Males are 24-46 mm long, females 40-66 mm.
